Mars Retrograde in Aries

First of all, relax your shoulders.

BEHOLD *cue tympanies*, The Mars Saga continuuuuues

We have been witnessing the Martial landscape with increasing contrast as Mars has slowed to a stop over the last couple weeks before reversing course. Mars doesn’t resume forward motion until November, so there’s plenty of time to see him at his brightest IRL!! Get outside folks! He’s so bright that dense light pollution may not even stop his orange glow. And speaking of that, my aunt sent me a photo from Oregon, and the sky is pure red with ash floating about from the fires there. It is super scary and I shared that photo above for the curious. But I digress.

Mars symbolizes our base motivations and drive to act. With his backward apparent motion as well as his periodic losses of speed, some folks might feel a bit sluggish. Others may be held back in some way, given Saturn’s imposing square. Protecting yourself from overstimulation and overextension is generally a good idea during Mars’ transits. We can still try new things, take on new work, but with deliberation (thanks, Libra).

We may benefit from easing up or loosening the grip on expectations, not in self-doubt, but in kindness and flexibility with ourselves.

Mars may be encouraging some to move past self-doubt and the fear of putting yourself out there. You may find or create an opportunity to pursue something you’ve always felt was risky. An opportunity brought about by a change in attitude perhaps? If you’re like me, you’ve already thought a lot about said opportunity while you were not going for it, so this does not mean being impulsive.

We can fortify our Mars/Aries places *through small acts of assertion and bravery*. This doesn’t have to be a dramatic thing. It could be wearing the outfit you’re questioning wearing out of the house (also Venus in Leo, right!?), or even just apologizing (v scary). Let’s use the sword of Mars to cut through the bullshit that holds us back.

We’ve all been discussing these dynamics ad nauseum, and I’m running out of Zofran. Wishing you all a safe and illuminating season.

Pitter patter.
