Forecast: April 10-18
The second weekend of April holds an Aries new moon. A lack of lunar light signals time of inaction and rest. The turning over of the lunar cycle is a time for endings, subsequent liminal spaces, and inevitable new beginnings.
Aries is ruled by Mars, a planet responsible for our desire to enact our will on the environment around us. When we see ourselves as ‘Self’ for the first time, suddenly separate from parents, and those around us, the second thing we do is start perceiving and engaging with our environment. Mars is about action, separations/cutting, motivation, vitality and energy, effort, pivots or adjustments, sex, friction, war, autonomy. These are all things that come about when we engage with our surroundings.
The current sky holds the kinetic energy of that packed into a seed before it bursts, bringing dynamic life into being. While the martial nature of Aries certainly points to individuality and a call to action, flanking Mercury and Venus ask us to consider more than ourselves *before* releasing all that kinetic energy and charging ahead. This lunation is supported by sextiles from Jupiter and Mars, giving the stamp of approval on plans from January and February, as well as motivations for them. Jupiter’s trine with Mars widens perspectives, allowing us to be called to action with the larger picture in mind.
Pluto’s influence on nearby Venus amplifies the feeling of responsibility to others in how we present ourselves and move forward in relationship. This pressure may not be accurately proportional for the context, so avoid assuming who needs you or why. We may feel an impulse to control or manipulate situations with others, but this need not be the case. Thankfully, Saturn’s current influence on Mercury tempers the speed of mind and hand, encouraging more patience to think before we act or come to conclusions.
Midweek we see Venus joining the moon in Taurus, leaving the last half of Wednesday lighthearted, focused on enjoying comforts of home or other abundance in our lives.
The week closes with Mercury sextile to both Jupiter and Mars. A sign-based mutual reception, or exchanging of homes, between Mercury and Mars helps motivate us in a more effective and focused way. Jupiter gives the stamp of approval on past analysis, supporting not only our plans from January and February, but also approves of our motivations for them.
On the 18th, We have a moment of vivid clarity regarding matters of communication, self expression, and acceptance of our own unique path and identity. As Mercury travels through the heart of the sun in the last degree of Aries on Sunday, we have access to bullshit-free understanding of ourselves (or at least less bullshit). This is accompanied by an energizing Mars-Jupiter trine, allowing us to put forth maximum effort with a larger picture in mind. Take note of what sets your heart aflame, as it may inform where all that effort wants to go.
Good luck and hopefully I’ve provided some tinder for your thoughts as we wrap up Aries Season.
